A major goal of Trudy Wade is to make the Democratic party as ineffective as the Libertarian Party.  After several years of 5-3 Republican domination of the City Council, a white, young, energetic future political leader would have to decide whether to run as a Democrat or a Republican.  As a Democrat, he or she would have very little chance of winning in the 5 Republican dominated districts.  Thus, in the future, all of the young, white, emerging leaders would gravitate to the Republican party if they wanted a future in politics.  Young talent for the Democratic Party in the white community would be nonexistent, and the party would become irrelevant; it would have no impact on decisions made.
