Although the energy industry is very profitable, the NC Senate’s proposed budget included nearly $1.2 million to help the energy sector with drilling, analysis and marketing.  This give-away of taxpayer money to large corporations was certainly not needed, and after many objections, that subsidy was not included in the final budget.
